Properly known as Beachamwell with Shingham & Drymere, the beautiful church of St Mary the Virgin has sadly come into the spotlight of late because of a devastating fire in February 2022 which left the church roofless and blackened, with the round tower, which has Saxon and post-Norman features, fortunately still standing. A marathon repair programme to replace the lead roof on the south aisle and to re-thatch the south side had started just a few days earlier.
Great efforts are now being made to repair and make usable again this lovely church, set in the centre of the village of Beachamwell. See documents following.
In the meantime, services are held monthly (but see Calendar for variations) outside on the Green if fine or inside the Village Hall if not.
