Christ Church is an unusual church in that it is a late single period construction erected in 1874-5 by R. M. Phipson who was also supervising the much larger Norwich church of St Peter Mancroft. Christ Church was dedicated to Reverend Charles Norman by his widow who also endowed a village school. This pretty flint-built church has a combined nave and chancel and exposed bell mounting. The windows are Decorative style imitations and these along with other features suggest a lack of funds needed to meet the intended plans. Inside, the original pulpit and pews survive under the elaborate roof bracing.
The members of Whittington church are active in trying to bring together the community of this small village together, divided as it is by the thunderous A134. It shares services fortnightly with All Saints, Wretton with Stoke Ferry, and hosts a Mums & Tots group every Thursday morning during term times.
